Palin Slams Obama’s Work as Community Organizer – But Why?

In a transparent attempt to attack the depth of Barack Obama’s political resume, Republican Vice-Presidential nominee Sarah Palin, dismissed the Democratic Party nominee’s experience as a Chicago community organizer, saying her stint as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska (population 8,000), unlike Obama’s neighborhood work, was a job with “real responsibilities”.

But Governor Palin, who presents herself as a person in touch with the needs of ordinary Americans, should realize the real importance of grassroots community service as a cornerstone of real participatory democracy, and the glue that makes the political process viable for people of all political persuasions.

It’s also likely that Obama’s Chicago community encompassed quite a few more citizens than Governor Palin’s entire town

Governor Palin, however, failed to mention that Senator Obama is a graduate of Harvard Law School.

Perhaps her next form of political attack on the Democratic presidential nominee will be to compare her own intellectual pedigree with his.
